Audubon Insectarium

My mom and my papaw Henderson came last weekend for a visit. We had a great time and got to do a few things that have been on our list to try. The first was the Audubon Insectarium. They have a wonderful butterfly exhibit, and we really enjoyed the tour. We will definitely go back again!

Best picture of the entire visit is the one above! Papaw was testing out the body armor that was modeled after that of an insect. LOVE it! haha!

Don't worry friends! The alligator above is not really in spite of its very life like appearance. Jesse tried to talk me into posting it and pretending we let the girls get this close to a real alligator, but I could not do it! :)

Tatumn got to "pet" lots of different insects including several different types of beetles! She loved it, and it was a great teaching opportunity!

One of her favorite parts was the test kitchen though! That is correct, we let our daughter eat bugs! It was so awesome! She ate a chocolate covered cricket and some dips that had worms in them. It was gross, and I refused to try it, but she was so proud of herself!
